De Zwarte Doos is located right where the TU/e campus meets Eindhoven city centre. This restaurant and film house is a favourite meeting place for the staff and students of the Fontys Hogeschool and the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven.

Street Food Art House

In its own words, the hospitality concept is a combination restaurant and film house, overflowing with colours, tastes and smells from all around the world. All of the world’s greatest street food can be found on the menu, and what’s more, it’s healthy comfort food that can be enjoyed at any time of day. The chef invites guests on a culinary journey that takes them from the busy streets of New York to the dirt roads of Uluwatu, with delicious food that evokes reminiscences of sultry weeks spent in Mexico, or creates excited anticipation for an upcoming trip.

Visitors to the film house can experience the cultures of all of the continents thanks to Studium Generale, which programmes the screenings. The carefully selected films encompass beautiful, moving, hilarious and original stories, and on the first three evenings of the week the films start at 8.00pm and are open to everyone.

Events

Finally, De Zwarte Doos is the ideal location for both formal and informal gatherings. There are spaces available for graduation drinks, presentations and meetings. The kitchen team also provides catering on campus. This is very simple to order through the Benque system.
